Madeira Chamber Music Festival

The Madeira Classical Orchestra Association is pleased to present the 1st Madeira Chamber Music Festival (FMCM)!

This exciting festival is supported by DGArtes/Ministry of Culture, granted through an application made in 2023 for Programming Project support. Our intention is to place FMCM on the national and international routes of chamber music festivals, presenting diverse projects in instrumentation, repertoire, experience, musical style, place of origin, and age group.

FMCM will have 5 concerts held at different venues, such as the Henrique e Francisco Franco Museum, Sugar City Museum, Baltazar Dias Municipal Theater, Machico Forum, and Mudas, featuring the participation of regional, national, and international artists. We will showcase award-winning instrumental and vocal groups, as well as groups at the beginning of their careers and others with already established careers. One of the festival's concerts will include the absolute premiere of a work by the Madeiran composer Nuno Jacinto, specially commissioned for this AOCM event.

The Madeira Chamber Music Festival's schedule is diverse, aiming to attract all kinds of audiences: chamber music enthusiasts, scholars interested in the presented composers, fans of improvised music, and even those less accustomed to attending such concerts. Additionally, we aim to decentralize the concerts geographically. Thus, FMCM will be a decentralized, varied, and inclusive festival for everyone!
